Sign Services
How We Go That XTRA Mile for Our Customers
Project Timeline & Sign Services
Each sign project has a specific timeline that we follow in order to ensure that your sign is completed acurately and on time. Here are the steps in that timeline, and the services we provide to all of our customers in each step:
STEP 1: FREE Initial Site Survey
When a person contacts SignsXtra because they need a sign, we will promptly setup an appointment to meet with them on site and discuss their company’s sign needs. We will gather such information as what the sign should like, what kind of materials and lightning the sign should have, where the sign should be installed, and what the budget for the sign is. This meeting usually takes only 10-15 minutes. Once this meeting is complete, we will finish up the initial site survey by take measurements and pictures of the project site.
STEP 2: FREE Initial Sign Design
Once we have completed a site survey with a customer, we will then take the information we received and put together a design mockup of their sign. During the design process we typically design the sign itself and then transpose it onto the install location. This shows our customers what the finished sign product will look like. We will also specify what materials, lightning, install method, etc. that we are planning on using for the sign.
STEP 3: FREE Sign Estimate
Once we have completed the design of a sign, we will then put together a free estimate of how much that sign will cost. It is important to read through an entire estimate because it often contains critical information regarding what is needed from the customer to both start and complete their sign project. For instance, if a sign contains lightning then the customer is responsible for making sure that power is drawn to within 5 feet of the center of the sign install location. The power needs to be on its own dedicated circuit (120V, 20 AMP Breaker). By law, a sign company is not allowed to draw power very far, and this work needs to be completed by an electrician before we come out to install the sign. Also, there is typically information regarding sign permits and any other issues or fees that may be associated with your sign.
STEP 4: Buy Your Sign From SignsXtra!!!
We thank you in advance for choosing us as your sign provider! Most sign projects require a 50% deposit in order to start the job, with the balance due when the job is completed and installed. Also, we can provide financing options to all qualified buyers. Click here to learn more about our financing options.
STEP 5: Sign Permits & FREE Permit Submittals
Once we have received the deposit, we will then move forward on obtaining a permit for the sign. Most signs need to be permitted either through the city or county in which the sign resides. As a courtesy to our customers we will fill out all the necessary paperwork for a sign permit and submit it to the proper municipality FREE OF CHARGE! It is our little “thank you” for choosing SignsXtra. Most municipalities take 10-14 business days to review an application and issue a new sign permit to us.
STEP 6: Sign Fabrication
Once we receive and approved permit fromt he city, we will then begin fabricating the sign. We do not begin fabrication before a permit is received because history was shown that often times a city or county will request changes to the size or look of a sign, which means if the sign was already being built it would be a complete waste. All of our signs are built here locally with our materials coming from local suppliers. Our current equipment includes a Gerber Sabre CNC Router Table, Norlock Letter Lock 4000, several Letter Breaks, Metal Shears, Aluminum/Steel MIG Welder, TIG Welder, and a commercial size Paint Booth.
STEP 7: Sign Installation
Once the fabrication is nearing completion we will then schedule a time to install the sign. Please keep in mind that in some cases we have to drill through block and concrete in order to install a sign. Such install activity can be quite loud. Also, signs are often located over the entrance to a business. Therefore, it is our recommendation that business owners notify all of their employees as well as customers of the possible inconvenience and how the situation should be properly handled. Most sign installs are completed in a matter of a couple of hours, but some can last a full day. We currently have both a 24′ and 30′ Boom Truck that we use to install our signs.
STEP 8: Sign Maintenance & Repair
At SignsXtra we offer a 2 year warranty on all of our signs and sign letters. We also offer a 90 day guarantee on all sign labor. If a sign was not made by us or is no longer covered under the warranty, the we offer affordable rates for maintaining and repairing signs and sign components.
